I had a fantastic time at my first conference this weekend! The highlights included making new friends, and finding new opportunities, as well as identifying some strengths I didn’t know I had.
I also learned what else I can still do for this manuscript, thanks to seminars like Teresa Funke’s Dialogue Dos and Don’ts: How Your Characters Should Talk, Joanne Kennedy’s Killing Your Darlings: How to Cut Your Manuscript Without Slitting Your Throat, and several others including presentations by Sandi Ault and Vivian Caethe. Acceleration’s future now looks all he brighter, albeit after it undergoes enough cutting to qualify it for the job as an extra on Hannibal.
