H is for: Homework, Day Jobs, and Scheduling

If I’ve learned anything about writing, it’s that inspiration doesn’t keep a schedule. The fact that the rest of my life does makes that somewhat of a problem. I’ve tried making schedules, lists, you name it, and at the end of every day I’m still winging it trying to fit it all in, with a priority on writing that’s really not becoming of a college student. How do you guys keep the balance without losing your motivation?

  1. I have the same problem. I just do all of the work that I can do today and then leave it for the next day. If I don’t get it done it doesn’t get done!

Unless it’s a deadline then I just put all of the other things away and focus on that deadline, until it is done.

Working on a schedule is hard and I never can seem to figure it out, but some people seem to. I think you just have to keep working at it and if things aren’t getting done, try it again until you find one that works best, and then repeat the process! : )
